September 15 to October 15 is National Hispanic American Heritage Month
On September 8th, the Cloverdale City Council adopted a proclamation proclaiming September 15 through October 15 as Latino Heritage Month in the City of Cloverdale. The Proclamation recognizes:
- The diverse Latino population of the County of Sonoma makes a significant economic contribution and has many profound positive influences on our community through strong commitment to family, faith, education, hard work, vibrant culture, and service.
- Sonoma County Latino organizations and businesses continue to foster the culture and traditions to our communities by being active community members and focusing on the areas of education, health, wellness, and the local economy.
The City Council of the City of Cloverdale is in deep appreciation to the diverse Latino population of our community and urge all citizens to join us during Latino Heritage Month in celebrating these extraordinary communities and their role in our County. The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum have all joined in paying tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society.
