K-9 Unit
About the K-9 Unit
The Police Department has one K-9 unit that works in the Patrol Unit. Officer Camara has been a K-9 officer since 2007 and serves with his K-9 Jimmy.
Jimmy is trained in master protection, search and is drug trained.
Cloverdale K-9 Alliance
In order to help support and supplement the K-9 Program, the Cloverdale K-9 Alliance was formed. This non-profit corporation allows private citizens to help the Cloverdale Police Department's K-9 Program through donations, fundraisers, and other activities.
Fundraising activities have given the K-9 Unit the ability to access special equipment. Local merchants helped raise money through small doghouse-shaped jars; t-shirt sales also contributed money. Graduating members of the most recent Citizen Police Academy were instrumental in raising funds that provided bulletproof vests for our K9s.
